We’ll Take You to Spain — Not by Plane, but Through Mediterranean Flavours and Sangria

When we think of Spanish gastronomy, fiery, colourful and characterful dishes are often the first things that come to mind. Many people love the unique Spanish way of life, but what is it that makes Spanish evenings so unforgettable?

Perhaps it is the Mediterranean lightness, the vibrant flavours, the freshness of sangria, or that relaxed yet passionate atmosphere in which every bite and every sip evokes the feeling of the Spanish seaside.

On 5 June, we are bringing this atmosphere to Eger, to Imola Hotel Platán, where for one evening the colours, flavours and moods of Spain will take centre stage. At the Spanish dinner evening held in Borág Restaurant, we welcome our guests with Mediterranean-inspired dishes, complimentary sangria and a truly summery, uplifting experience.

An Evening Where the Flavours of Spain Take Centre Stage

One of the greatest charms of Spanish cuisine is that it is both light and full of character. It is never overcomplicated, yet every detail carries the power of sun-ripened ingredients, the energy of Mediterranean spices and the natural joy of life that makes Spain so beloved.

On this special evening, the chef of Borág Restaurant will prepare dishes inspired by Spain. During dinner, guests can choose 3 courses from the menu, allowing everyone to find the combination that best suits their taste and the mood of the evening.

Whether light, fresh, vegetable-based, characterful, spicy or truly Mediterranean, the purpose of the Spanish dinner evening is to invite guests to step out of their everyday routine for one night and immerse themselves in a summery, flavour-rich gastronomic experience.

Sangria, the Spanish Wine Experience

Have you ever tasted sangria? Sangria is a Spanish, fruit-based wine drink, usually made with red wine, fresh fruit, sugar or syrup, and often a small amount of brandy or liqueur. Served well chilled with ice, it is especially popular on summer evenings with a Mediterranean atmosphere.

This is precisely why a Spanish dinner evening would be unimaginable without sangria.

To accompany the dinner, we will treat our guests to a complimentary jug of sangria, the perfect pairing for Spanish-inspired dishes. Over a glass of sangria, conversations somehow start more easily, flavours become more vivid, and the evening quickly takes on that relaxed, southern rhythm we love so much in Spanish culture.

If It’s Spanish, Something Red Is a Must

Anyone who has visited Spain knows how important the colour red is there: in the movement of flamenco dresses, in Mediterranean sunsets, in the lively atmosphere of Spanish celebrations and in the passionate spirit that runs through the entire culture.

We would like our guests to become part of the atmosphere of the Spanish dinner evening as much as possible, which is why there is a special dress code: guests are invited to wear something red.

It does not have to be anything extravagant — it can be an elegant piece of clothing, a scarf, a piece of jewellery, an accessory or even a small detail that evokes Spain. This is what turns the evening from a simple dinner into a shared experience, where guests themselves become part of the Mediterranean atmosphere.

The Spanish Atmosphere Continues Throughout the Weekend

Our hotel dinner evenings are never reserved exclusively for hotel guests: we warmly welcome external guests as well.

This means that those who would like to join us for dinner only can also experience this special Mediterranean evening in Eger, whether they are looking for a pleasant summer programme with friends, their partner or family members. And who knows — by the end of the evening, they may feel inspired to continue the Mediterranean mood with a longer stay in Eger.

After all, the Mediterranean experience does not have to end with just one evening. The Spanish atmosphere will stay with us throughout the weekend, as we will also be offering tapas platters and sangria in the bar for an additional charge.

A glass of sangria at the bar, a tapas platter at the end of the day, a peaceful wellness afternoon or an evening stroll in Eger — this is how the Spanish dinner evening can become part of a complete weekend experience.
